
Juniperus chinensis first described in 1767, by Carl Linnaeus (or Carolus Linnæus) (1707–1778), is commonly known as Chinese juniper or as 圆柏, 桧 (Yuan bai) in the Chinese language. This is an extremely popular horticultural species, possibly the commonest ornamental juniper.
'Stricta' is a small, compact evergreen conifer with a conical shape. The foliage is soft and bluish when young, maturing to blue-green.
Cultivation Plant in well-drained soil. Will tolerate most soil types. Some drought tolerance once established.
