Edelweiss is a hardy perennial, alpine plant. Leontopodium nivale subsp. alpinum 'Berghman' was specially bred to have long stems that are suitable for cutting. Soft and 'woolly', star-shaped blooms make a striking display above the silvery foliage. Edelweiss enjoys free drainage particularly during the winter months, so it is perfect for growing in rockeries and on very light soils. The unusual looking blooms make excellent dried flowers too.
